Sitka Log Homes is proud to have been requested by the Greater Vancouver Home Builders Association to present one of our fine log homes for the 2007 show. This Sitka designed log home is 832 square feet on the main floor and 403 square feet in the loft.

The main log shell is constructed of Mountain Pine wood. The unique blue and gray colours are distinctive of the interior’s Lodgepole Pine that had the mountain pine beetle present in the trees several years ago. The construction period for the log shell was approximately 8 weeks at our facility in 100 Mile House and then numbered and tagged prior to disassembly. The building was then shipped to BC Place where the log work was re-assembled in 2 days. Thereafter, the roof framing panels and and pre-finished loft wall framing was erected and the remainder of the interior was completed.

The log work has a clear interior finish as well as a light coloured exterior finish. Several coats have been applied and the house is completely stained for the home owner.

The windows have been constructed with Western Red Cedar and trimmed with 4“ half logs, a unique finishing item provided by Sitka. The doors were custom crafted in 100 Mile House and are constructed with Alder.

The balance of the house was completed with materials and installation by many members of the GVHBA. See list of contributors HERE.
